Day 2

its been a relatively quiet day today, as I’m sure you’ve noticed by the lack of updates. Here’s a quick update:

  • Charysse was moved out of ICU and into her own room tonight around 5pm PT.
  • She’s reporting that she’s had no visual effects from the surgery. That’s a miracle!
  • She’s already asking if she can go home. At this point, she’ll have to wait until Sunday.
  • Finally, she’s adamently against pictures being posted of her, so you’ll have to settle for a written description: imagine her with one of those stellar hospital gowns, her head wrapped in gauze, add a dose of wit and some pain from the surgery, and that’s what we see

Tomorrow, I head back to be with my family so I’ll be passing the updates back to Charysse, who will be ready to run a marathon, I’m sure.

Goodnight from UCLA

  1. I’m so excited to read these posts! Our God is an awesome God! I will continue to thank Him and pray for you and your family in the coming days! You are a blessing to so many people and are lucky to have such a support group behind you!!

  2. Aww Charysse you are a trooper! I am so impressed by your ability to fight this all. I only had one brain surgery and I wanted to jump off a cliff…I can’t even imagine having four! Praise the Lord that it went well! I am so happy your vision isn’t as impaired as they expected! You have been in our hearts and prayers this week. I was with grandpa every day in the hospital and you were one of the frequent topics of conversation; you definitely held a special place in his heart. We all love and miss you, but my prayers are with you through the annoying wait period until you get to leave the hospital:) I hope it all goes extremely well. Good thing we serve a God of miracles!
    Love you,
    Nae

  3. Wow. Does she know she’s allowed to have a bad day? haha Way to go, Charysse. So happy to hear about her eyesight. Praise God for this miracle!

  4. Wow! No visual effect – PTL! So thrilled for you, C! Now rest, don’t go to bucking to get home too soon! :) (I can imagine I’d be the same way, though!) :) So happy for you!!!

  5. What an awesome update. We continue to pray for Charysse and your whole family. Safe travels…

  6. Uncle Cal, Auntie Renie says:

    Skilled hands, both temporal and Eternal, surely joined together for such an undertaking. And for sight to be untouched… what a blessing!

    “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and ALL that is within me….”

  7. Karen Hegge says:

    Love and prayers are with you in your time of recovery!!! Keep up your spitfire:)

  8. John and Sue Marken says:

    That you so much Kyle for the udates. It has meant a lot to us to know whats happening and how your Sis is doing. What an amazing woman she is. You must all be so proud of her. We are praying for all of you.

  9. I am very proud of her. She’s a hero to me.

  10. “I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
    The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
    My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
    My sheild and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
    I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
    So shall I be saved.” Ps 18:1-2

    I love how David loved, trusted with confidence and praised the Lord.
    Kind of like you, Charysse :)

    vv. 7-17 of this Psalm gives a great picture of how God will move heaven and earth to rescue those who delight themselves in Him.

    And I really love v 19:
    “He also brought me out into a broad place;
    He delivered me because He delighted in me.”

    Charysse, you have determined not to let this condition confine you and your witness for Christ is even more powerful. I pray you will find yourself falling more and more in love with Jesus and God’s Word.

    I will continue to pray for complete restoration, from the inside out, for He does desire that you prosper and be in health just as your soul prospers.

    Love and Blessings to you and yours!!

    Cheri
